Although Established November 2024, Directors Allan and Dave have over 70 years experience between them in this line of work.
In the past 35 years anyone who has restored a car, motorcycle, or even a B.M.X, or had something polished, chrome plated or even gold plated, not only here in Adelaide but from anywhere in Australia,there is a pretty high chance the work would have passed through probably one of the finest Chrome Plating facilities in Australia.
If there were any repairs or restoration to your jobs, then there is probably every chance that would of been done by either Allan Morgan, or Dave Gartland.
If you have been a customer of A Class Metal finishers over the years, then you would be fully aware that around August 2024, the Chrome plating side of the business was sold.
This left the restoration side of the business a seperate entity.
November 2024 the decision was made to sadly close this side of the business.
The Boss`s were and are at retirement age after all, and can`t blame them for that. They had built up an amazing service that survived so much, over the years while so many plating businesses around Australia were closing up left right and centre.
So, this meant there were literally hundreds if not thousands of past, present and future customers of A Class, in need of this continued service, not just the restoration and repair, but the finishing copper / chrome plating too.
Not to worry....
After a lot of discusion between Allan and Dave and the positive feedback from literally every customer spoken to, all understanding that the people restoring and repairing are the core to their requirements, it was pretty obvious by public demand we needed to keep this service going.
The New owners of the Chrome Plating business,including their staff have welcomed us with open arms.
So apart from all the changes, company wise, the services offered have remained in place,major differences being, a faster turnaround, better comunication, and of course quality you would come to expect.
With the additional skills of Dave, who served an apprenticeship in the UK during the mid 80`s as a sheet metal worker specialising in stainless steel and aluminium fabrication and welding. Many of you will know him as the man behind Alikat Guitars.
He also ran his own business in the UK for 10 years and still regularly makes and repairs custom motorcycle exhausts and mufflers. His passion for 80`s BMX restoration and building is evident by his collection of frmaes and bikes.
Dave repaired all the car mouldings and trims, along with daughter L
orren who did repairs and preperation on the die cast and platic dashes etc.
Allan has nearly 25 years experience just at A Class, plus previously running his own business restoring and painting classic cars. His knowledge of classic cars and their parts is incredible, as are his skills and knowledge, dedication and passion repairing bumper bars, radiator surrounds, and grills etc, is 2nd to none.
The combination of skills and experience between these two tradesman, should put minds at rest when considering where to go for repairs, as we will 100% be working together with A Class Plating services as they are now called. They offer the stripping service, and still continue to provide an amazing quality of chrome plating.

We are not a part of the old A Class Metal Finishers.
